I am sick of writing about the house fiasco. I am sick of crying and screaming and telling the world what a team of idiots I have been dealing with. So this post is about something that I am actually excited about – The Olympics.

Opening Ceremonies – this Friday evening. I can’t wait. The only thing that would make it better would be to be watching from my own living room, in my own home, on my own TV. *sigh*

I have to say that I just LOVE the Olympics. Every part of it. I think the American athletes rock and I do not have a favorite – winter or summer. I just love it all. Although watching Michael Phelps swim his ass off at the last summer Olympics made me pretty giddy.

Do any of you watch faithfully? Does anyone else print out the viewing guide and tape it to the wall above their TV so they don’t miss ANYTHING?…..Yeah. Me either.

Why is it impossible for me to make it to the New Year and not revamp my system? I spent most of yesterday, updating the new planner, synching my phone to my computer calendar, cleaning out my address book etc. Today, I am working on my computer. I can’t help myself. I just have to organize in January. The key for me will be to remain this way throughout the entire year.

Is anyone else jumping on the losing weight bandwagon? I still need to drop about another 20 so if you need an online buddy to help ya stay motivated, let me know.

Finally Beginning

Today, our first POD will be delivered. This marks the official beginning to the end of our almost year long process of buying a house. To say that I am excited is an understatement. A big one. Today, although it is only a brief part of the process, it feels like a true beginning.

I spoke to a neighbor last night about the upcoming move. There are some things about the neighborhood we live in now that I will miss. We are secluded. We have neighbors that look out for everyone. I can let my kids play in front of my house without too much stress. They also have friends here. THAT I will miss. What I won’t miss is the leaky roof we have had for a year and a half. I won’t miss the dipshit landlord. I won’t miss the noise of the Turnpike that I can hear when I step outside. I absolutely will not miss writing out a check every month for a home that isn’t ours.

We are excited to make this move. It can’t happen soon enough. At least now though I feel like we are finally starting to make it a reality.

Update Update and Ummmm Update

So today is Monday…technically now it is Tuesday but I thought it was high time to post an update on the house mess.

So today is Monday…technically now it is Tuesday but I thought it was high time to post an update on the house mess.

The landlord at our current house is a dick. He originally agreed to us staying put until we closed, then changed his mind. Then he agreed for us to stay through December. Then he changed his mind. We are done playing his stupid assed games.

Moving out of current house by December 1. We don’t close on the new house until December 29. We have a few options for places to stay for that month in between homes. Trying to weigh the options and make the decision that will be best for our entire family – 2 and 4 legged.

Called today to reserve our PODS. Cost us a bit more than a plain storage unit but takes the countless trips to and from the storage unit out of the equation. Totally worth it for us.

Got a PO Box set up today. Not sure how much it will be used but my piece of mind makes that 30 bucks well spent.

Have our Holiday letter all typed out and ready to send. I am NOT sending them via snail mail. Every single one will go out via FaceBook or email. If anyone gets offended, they can piss off. It’s the best that I can do this year.

As of today, right this second, we are scheduled to close on the house on my birthday – December 29. We are hoping that can be moved up and happen sooner but we aren’t holding our breath. Either way, it is a hell of an end to 2009 in our books.

That is about it. Nothing major but it feels like the end of this ordeal is closer than it has been. Anyone free the week of the 28th to come help us unload, just let me know. )

Technically, it is my new year. Yeah. My calendar is different than most of yours but take my word for it – it’s my New Year. This of course has led me to consider things that I want to accomplish and/or otherwise work on for the coming calendar. I figure that if I list them here, I will have someone ride my ass so that I can accomplish some of them at least.

• I really want to get moved into our own home. I have been at this since ummmm March. I think I have spent enough time, found the perfect place and now dammit, it’s time to get it finished up.
• I need to focus on working a bit more than I did this past year. I have had to furnish the banks with our financial records a few times due to the whole house thing and I really slacked off. I like web design. I like it even better when my clients aren’t assholes.
• I have a few online courses that I want to take in the coming year. I have put them off until we get moved so that I am not such a scatter brain. It is something that is important to me so I really want to be able to focus on it. Again, sick of waiting but know that it is for the best.
• I need to get my bod back on track health wise. I slipped up a lot this year and this bounce back thing totally sucks. It’s much harder to give up my bad habits for the second time than the first. Not to mention that I have felt like shit a lot.
• I need to find make time to write again. I really do find joy in it. It helps clear my head so that I can focus better on other things…you know, like work, studying, moving.

I think this is the same list I put up last year. At the very least, it is similar. This time though, I intend to work on it. Really.
