Monday got totally away from me. I felt like shit. We were dealing with the kitty. I felt like shit. Oh and did I mention that I felt like shit? Heh. I am better today. Stupid cramps anyway. Gaahhh.
It is indeed Tuesday. I just checked. That means one thing. TMI Tuesday. So here ya go:

1. Do you believe in marriage?Absolutely. I do think that people put way too much into the ceremony of getting there and not enough energy on being there.

2. What is marriage to you?Marriage has nothing to do with that piece of paper. It has everything to do with love, trust and honesty though. Sex isn’t even a factor because well…you don’t have to be married to do that. Hub and I are bound by the heart and mind, not by a piece of paper that the state of Florida gave us.

3. If you are married, why did you do it? If you are not, why have you not married? We went through the technicalities because the insurance company required us to be married. Honestly. Nothing changed with our relationship because we said I do. As soon as I find the proper person to do it for us, we will have a handfasting ceremony that will bind us more than any piece of paper we have now. :)

4. Do you believe in divorce?I am divorced. I won’t do it again. Not because I don’t believe in it, but because I don’t think I will have a need. If everyone was required to wait until they were in their mid 30’s before they got married, I think the divorce rate would be down to nothing. FYI -my ex hub is one of my closest friends. As well as best pals with my hub. We are not a typical divorced couple. I am not a typical anything actually.

5. If you are divorced, why did you do it? If you have not, are there certain circumstances under which you would agree to a divorce? I married a guy that I grew up with. We dated on and off through high school. We did what was expected of us. So one of those steps was marriage and kids. Neither of which I would change. BUT, I realize now that what I felt for my ex at the time was not anything close to being head over heels in love. I love him. Sure. But, I think we were just comfy and going through the motions. I honestly think that most people are not capable of knowing how to love strongly enough to withstand all the shit that life tosses at you, until they are capable of knowing who they are completely. My ex and I grew apart. Yep, as cliche as that is to say, I went through it. We finally figured out in our mid 20’s who we wanted to be. We were adult enough then, even with kids, to allow that living to happen. Our lives are better now because of that. This is also why he and I can be friends now. That and the fact that my hub threatened my life if I tried to be immature and nasty to the ex. LOL!

Bonus : Do you believe that same sex marriages are a threat to traditional marriages? Since I have said over and over that I don’t think marriage has anything to do with a piece of paper, I will simply say this: Love is love. If two people of the same sex love each other, then why can’t they be married? Think how much happier our world will be if people are allowed to openly love and be happy - if people of all races, religions and backgrounds are respected and treated equally. Hmmmm interesting concept don’t you think?

Happy TMI Everyone.

One gal, with a vision. Sounds like many of us right? This time, I am speaking about Mimi. She had a vision of a blog movement. One that would unite bloggers worldwide. The cause? Peace.

For the past 4 years, she has watched her vision grow into a worldwide event. China to Alaska. The North to South Poles. I think….I think that Mimi is awesome.

Peace Is

Hearing my kids laugh.
Enjoying a sunset.
Hiking through the swamp…or the park…or along the beach.
Setting by my pool.
Reading a book.
Seeing my dogs play.

Not feeling worried.
Being able to smile.
Gaining new friends.
Having a choice - Every day.

The library.
The internet.
The telephone.
The planet.

Finding a cure.
Fighting a cause.
Speaking your mind.
Or just listening.

Join the movement. Click here for details.
