I Don’t Understand

Posted by Queenie 15 December, 2009

Sometimes, I find that I am dumbfounded by life. I have those moments where I sit back and take a look around me and can’t believe what I see/hear or otherwise experience. I have had several of those moments lately. Can someone please tell me…what in the hell is wrong with people?

We have a kid down here who was set on fire by some of his peers. He is recovering. Yesterday, the mother of one of the accused was on the morning news station that I watch. I have seen this woman on the local stations with the same blah type attitude. Like it was no big deal what her 2 son’s were involved with when they set the victim on fire. It really is no wonder that her boys didn’t find it difficult to do something so vicious. Maybe she is in shock. Maybe she herself has some issues that need to be resolved. I really hope that all parties involved get whatever they need to recover and make the world better.

I find myself out in various stores this time of year. I am surrounded by others who, just like myself, are trying to get all of the holiday preparations handled. The holidays. You know, that time of year when we are supposed to be spreading cheer, peace and love. Why is it then that everyone is so damn grumpy and selfish? Pushing, shoving, muttering rudeness. I want to smack them all with the happy wand….right upside their crabby little heads.

Why on earth is Tiger still in the news? Yep, the king of all things good fell from grace. Oh My God the man is human! Yes, I agree that he was unfaithful and that isn’t so good for his good boy image HOWEVER – he is no different than any other public figure/ Hollywood big wig or most politicians. For one reason or another he wasn’t satisfied in his marriage. Has anyone stopped to think that maybe just maybe, some of the fault of this lays with his wife as well? I know that when my marriage fell apart, it wasn’t just MY fault and it wasn’t just my ex hubs fault. We BOTH let it happen. And then, lets discuss the fact that DCF came in to make sure the kids didn’t witness a violent altercation the night of the accident. Yeah, maybe they did see Mommy and Daddy yell at each other. Is that cause for this agency to come get involved? Are they swooping in simply because it is such a public issue? Because let me tell you, the people that live directly across the street from me, with their ghetto rap music blaring into the wee hours at top volume – the funky smells that I notice coming out of the house – and the various vehicles that come and go make me way more concerned for THESE kids than for the babies at the Woods home possibly seeing mom and dad upset with each other. I am just wondering, if Tiger Woods wasn’t Golf’s Good boy – would they still be covering him every day like this?

Lastly, why oh why would a bank sit on a property that they know is going to wind up in foreclosure…when they have a buyer…who has the funds to buy said house? Why would they stall the impending transaction? The house is empty. There are no other offers on the house. They approved the amount. Approved the sale. Yet here we are. Waiting for them to make it final so we can move in. I am SO OVER IT. What in the hell are you waiting for ?

*runs off and looks for that damn wand*

My vote is for “Do unto others” and “Love everyone as your brother.” Just imagine if people actually followed these mantras.
